Stephanie Jones
Sport Psychologist
Supporting riders and coaches to perform consistently under pressure. Through tailored support, I help individuals develop clarity, resilience, and sustainable performance in training, competition, and beyond.

About Me.
A lot of my work looks at the real psychological demands of equestrian sport — the pressure, responsibility, expectation, and emotion that come with both riding and coaching. I’m particularly interested in supporting coaches, whose own mindset and emotional state can have a huge impact on the people they work with. I help coaches reset between sessions, protect their energy, reduce emotional fatigue, and stay calm, clear, and effective under pressure. My approach is practical, evidence-based, and grounded in the realities of the sport.

Areas of Support
Psychological Support for Athletes
I work with athletes to help them manage pressure, build confidence, and perform with greater consistency. Sessions focus on the psychological side of performance, including emotional regulation, overthinking, self-doubt, focus, and responding well when demands are high. My work is practical and tailored to the individual, helping athletes understand what affects their performance and develop tools they can use in real training and competition environments.
Psychological Support for Coaches
Coaching is psychologically demanding, and I work with coaches across all levels to support clarity, performance, and long-term sustainability. I help coaches regulate their internal state, maintain presence and authority, manage emotional load, and prevent burnout. Sessions are practical, grounded, and tailored to real coaching scenarios. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from this work.
Recreational Riders
I support recreational riders to develop confidence, emotional steadiness, and enjoyment in their riding. This work can help with nerves, overthinking, rebuilding confidence after setbacks, and riding with greater presence and trust. Sessions are collaborative, supportive, and adapted to your own experience, goals, and riding context.
Elite Riders
At elite level, margins are small and pressure is constant. I work with elite riders to support consistency, clarity, and control under pressure, helping them access their skill and decision-making when demands are high. This work is discreet, practical, and performance-focused, with sessions shaped around the realities of competing and performing at a high level.
Working With Me
I work one-to-one with riders and coaches, as well as with organisations, yards, and performance programmes. Sessions can take place online or in person where appropriate, and the work is always shaped around the individual, their role, and the environment they are working in. That might mean supporting a rider with confidence and consistency, helping a coach manage the demands of their role, or working with a wider team to create a healthier and more effective performance environment. Everything is confidential, ethical, and focused on building sustainable performance, not quick fixes.
